Senior Field Survey Software Engineer (Java/C++)

Topcon Positioning Group in Italy seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop field survey applications across Android, Windows, Linux and iOS. You will write Java and C++ code for GNSS receivers and robotic total stations in a hybrid role with three in-office days per week in Concordia sulla Secchia or Ancona.

Develop and maintain field survey applications using Java, C++, and related technologies. Implement software modules that connect with Topcon and third-party field equipment. Collaborate with project managers, team leaders, and software teams to plan delivery schedules and ensure high-quality execution. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and application issues. Support existing mature software while contributing to new features, enhancements, testing, and documentation. Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement of software processes. 3+ years of professional software development experience with Java and/or C++. Hands-on Android development experience with Android Studio. Strong understanding of OO design, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading. Experience with software development tools, version control, debugging, testing, and documentation. Knowledge of bug tracking systems such as JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
