Senior Payments Backend Engineer — Remote/Hybrid

We’re seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to join the Payments squad to own money movements end to end—from deposits to ledger entries—across banks, custodians and crypto providers. You’ll design scalable, event-driven services and drive reliability with CI/CD and strong monitoring.

Design and build a scalable, event-driven payments engine for deposits, withdrawals, transfers and rebalancing. Implement state machines, idempotency, retries and compensation for safety and traceability. Integrate orchestration with account data, provider adapters and the core ledger. Build and operate the job fleet that automates rebalancing and recurring flows with monitoring. Work with product, Operations and banking infrastructure to improve journey success and speed. Write clean, documented code, review peers' work, fix bottlenecks and bugs, and improve CI/CD. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. 5+ years building back-end systems in strongly typed languages. Strong OOP, distributed systems, concurrency and performance optimization. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, Git and testing frameworks. English fluency; Italian is a plus.
