Senior Platform Engineer

Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office
Salary: Up to £90,000 + 10% cash benefit + 10% non-contributory pension + discretionary bonus

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a technology team within a Tier 1 banking organisation.

This is a hands-on platform engineering role focused on building, automating and continuously improving secure, scalable and highly available cloud platforms.

Essential Experience

To be considered, you will need:

• 10+ years' experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure or DevOps
• Strong, hands-on Azure experience – essential
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience – essential, ideally AKS
• Strong hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code – essential
• Experience building and managing production cloud infrastructure
• Strong CI/CD experience
• Experience with cloud networking and security
• Hands-on experience with Disaster Recovery and high availability
• Experience with monitoring and observability
• Ability to work 1 day per week in the London office

Candidates without strong hands-on Azure, Kubernetes and Terraform experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure, scalable and highly available Azure platforms
• Build and maintain Kubernetes and containerised environments
• Develop reusable infrastructure using Terraform
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Implement and maintain cloud networking and security controls
• Support platform resilience, disaster recovery and availability
• Monitor platform performance, reliability and operational health
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues
• Contribute to technical designs, code reviews and engineering best practice
• Work closely with engineering and technology teams to continuously improve the platform
