This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Audience Lifecycle Tools based in the United States.
As a Senior Product Manager, Audience Lifecycle Tools, you will shape the future of audience engagement by building scalable, data-driven tools that strengthen relationships across digital channels. You will own the product strategy and roadmap for audience lifecycle platforms, transforming manual marketing processes into efficient, automated, and personalized experiences. From growing newsletter subscriptions to improving audience retention and donation conversion, your work will directly influence engagement and long-term organizational impact. Working at the intersection of product, technology, data, marketing, and editorial teams, you will turn complex stakeholder needs into intuitive tools and measurable outcomes. You will also explore responsible AI applications to streamline workflows and enhance audience activation. Accountabilities

Own product strategy and roadmap: Lead the product roadmap for audience lifecycle and marketing technology platforms, including Piano.io and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, translating cross-functional needs into clear priorities, product requirements, and engineering backlogs.

Develop scalable audience activation tools: Build, configure, and optimize internal-facing platforms that enable content, marketing, and editorial teams to manage audience engagement independently through intuitive self-service workflows, appropriate permissions, and governance standards.

Optimize audience lifecycle journeys: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop scalable automation capabilities that improve the entire audience journey, from email discovery and content re-engagement to recurring donation conversion, retention, and win-back initiatives.

Strengthen data integration and measurement: Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to improve customer data platform (CDP) segmentation, tracking taxonomies, and attribution models, ensuring campaign performance and audience outcomes are measurable.

Enhance newsletter infrastructure: Drive technical development and platform improvements for editorial newsletter products, working closely with newsroom and product leadership to strengthen functionality, scalability, and audience engagement.

Integrate AI and workflow automation: Identify, evaluate, and implement practical, responsible AI solutions and automation capabilities that reduce repetitive manual tasks and improve the efficiency of lifecycle marketing workflows.

Support audience diversification: Develop segmentation and personalization strategies that help engage and retain diverse, cross-generational audiences across digital touchpoints.

Drive documentation and adoption: Create product documentation, establish standard operating procedures and lifecycle governance practices, and deliver internal training to encourage consistent adoption of tools across departments.

Coordinate cross-functional execution: Align product, engineering, marketing, editorial, design, and data stakeholders around shared objectives, ensuring product decisions balance user needs, technical feasibility, operational efficiency, and organizational goals.

Product management experience: At least five years of digital product management experience, including ownership of complex platforms, products, or internal tools and a demonstrated record of delivering measurable business or audience outcomes.

Marketing technology expertise: Substantial experience with enterprise marketing automation platforms, customer data platforms, or audience lifecycle solutions, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Piano.io, Braze, Iterable, or Segment.

Product strategy and technical execution: Proven ability to translate complex, cross-departmental requirements into structured user stories, technical specifications, prioritized roadmaps, and actionable engineering backlogs.

Platform implementation experience: Demonstrated success leading technical software migrations, vendor integrations, enterprise platform rollouts, or comparable large-scale tooling initiatives.

Data-driven decision-making: Strong understanding of digital analytics, audience segmentation, cohort tracking, retention funnels, attribution, and structured A/B testing, with the ability to use insights to guide product improvements.

Systems thinking: Ability to synthesize competing stakeholder needs across a complex organizational structure and translate them into a coherent product architecture and execution plan.

Internal platform enablement: A strong understanding of internal users and their workflows, with the ability to balance self-service flexibility, usability, operational efficiency, and appropriate governance.

Communication and stakeholder management: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and influence cross-functional partners.

Iterative problem-solving: Ability to identify high-impact opportunities, prioritize product enhancements, manage evolving roadmaps, and adapt to changing organizational and technical requirements.

Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating comparable product management and technical capabilities.

Experience in media, digital publishing, nonprofit organizations, or subscription- and membership-based businesses.

Practical experience implementing AI-enabled automation, algorithmic segmentation, or intelligent personalization within marketing workflows.

Familiarity with user privacy regulations, consent management frameworks, and consumer data protection and compliance standards.

Competitive salary: Annual salary range of $132,915.86–$151,852.82 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, and work location.
