Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Project Manager (7+ years of experience) to lead business transformation initiatives using Lean, SAFe, and Azure DevOps- 212508

Join a large-scale transformation program focused on complex, cross-functional business and technology initiatives. This role leads end-to-end project delivery across design, implementation, transition, and deployment activities within a matrix environment. The position includes project management, business analysis, stakeholder coordination, and change support across multiple workstreams. Candidates with insurance industry and public sector experience will bring added value to the program.

1 year contract to start, 3 days/week onsite in Richmond. 8 hours/day.

Must Haves

• 7+ years delivering complex cross-functional projects in Project Management, business transformation, modernization, or operating model change
• Hands-on use of Azure DevOps for end-to-end project delivery, milestone tracking, and cross-team progress visibility
• Strong understanding of Lean and SAFe methodologies within hybrid delivery environments
• Experience in the insurance industry and/or public sector environments
• Bachelor’s degree and PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification preferred

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of claims processes, workers’ compensation, insurance operations, or disability management
• Lean, Six Sigma, or Prosci certification
• Experience supporting change management, go-live planning, and deployment activities
• Experience working within matrix organizational environments with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across initiation, planning, implementation, deployment, and closeout phases
• Facilitate working sessions, design reviews, planning sessions, and stakeholder decision forums
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, forecasts, RAID logs, decision logs, and governance materials
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams across business, operations, technology, and vendor workstreams
• Support business design, process mapping, requirements gathering, and gap analysis activities
• Partner with technology teams to support development, testing, release planning, and implementation activities
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, scope changes, and stakeholder misalignment
