Description

Role at a Glance
We are seeking a Senior Site Project Manager to lead our Vancouver shipyard team: a local team of production engineers and Installation Managers/Supervisors who lead an installation team of approximately 60 people.
You will act as the primary point of contact for the customer and ensure that contractual obligations, financial performance, technical requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met.
As a leader onsite, you will be responsible for project delivery, day‑to‑day operations, and team engagement, while maintaining a strong connection with our head office.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days in the office during normal operations but may require additional in-person presence during peak production periods.

Who are we?
Bronswerk Marine, headquartered in Brossard, Quebec, Canada is an industry leader in Marine HVAC and Refrigeration systems. Specializing in Merchant Marine and Military, we target markets around the globe, and we are positioning ourselves for long term growth.
Bronswerk Marine has been selected as the Tier-1 supplier of HVAC-R installation services on JSS Program (Join Ship Support) part of the Canada’s new National Shipbuilding Program being constructed in Vancouver Shipyard in North Vancouver BC. In addition, several additional projects have built the need for a local site manager capable of managing projects and building presence on the west coast.

Your challenge:
Reporting to the Director PMO, the Senior Site Project Manager manages the operational, financial, technical, and human resources necessary to meet contractual and company obligations for projects and programs at the Vancouver Shipyard.
You will support growth initiatives regionally and within the rest of Canada (and potentially internationally) while ensuring that our existing team continues to perform at a high level.
At Bronswerk, a successful Site Project Manager is an expert in the HVAC project lifecycle who regularly supports technical resources and leads by example on site.
The responsibilities of this role are:
Site leadership & team management

Lead and coach a local team of production engineers and installation personnel to deliver world‑class HVAC systems for current and future shipbuilding programs.
Maintain morale and cohesion for a team that is physically remote from head office, ensuring they feel supported and heard.
Work closely with Installation Managers (potentially located in different yards) and lead the effort in overcoming technical, supply chain and client issues.
With support from head office, support various ad‑hoc administrative and/or human resources related activities as required.

Project & customer management

Manage installation projects, ensuring goals, timelines, resources, material and budget are aligned with customer and Bronswerk objectives.
Develop and maintain a project delivery strategy aligned with customer expectations and Bronswerk’s overall goals, monitoring effectiveness and realigning as needed.
Monitor progress, earned value, deliverables and acceptance plans against established baselines; identify and mitigate issues as they arise.
Communicate status, risks and opportunities through meetings and reports
Manage and monitor contract delivery, including scope, change orders and compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
Coordinate suppliers’ deliverables with project timelines, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
Act as the primary point of contact with the customer and maintain effective communication with senior leadership on both the customer’s side and Bronswerk’s side.

Technical oversight & coordination

Ensure site realities and constraints are captured in HVAC designs and participate in design reviews with local and remote engineering teams.
Support the development of appropriate HVAC designs for different spaces on board ships, including participation in supporting calculations with the local engineering team.
Coordinate with local and remote Product Engineers and Equipment teams to ensure their deliverables are aligned with project requirements, design requirements, timelines and budget.
Support production engineers in the resolution of installation issues in a timely manner, ensuring that changes and new requirements are understood, documented, communicated, costed and implemented.
Take responsibility for the quality of deliverables and installations, reinforcing Bronswerk’s standards and customer expectations.
May be called upon to support business development activities regionally, domestically or internationally, leveraging site insights and customer relationships.

How you lead

You are a natural, positive leader who builds credibility by being present and understanding the work.
You lead by example, investing in coaching and mentoring rather than directing from a distance.
You value collaboration with experienced installers and engineers and respect existing relationships and processes, strengthening the team and improving the strategy rather than “starting over.”
You remain calm, adaptable, and solution-oriented under pressure and maintain morale and professionalism even when schedules are tight or when coordinating with head office in a different time zone.
