Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Superintendent / Project Manager to lead high-end residential construction projects throughout the Greater Boston area. This is a hands-on senior leadership position responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
The successful candidate will oversee daily field operations, scheduling, budgets, subcontractors, site logistics, quality control, safety, and client communication. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with luxury custom homes, multifamily construction, major renovations, and historic restoration, particularly on architect-driven projects and complex urban sites.
This role is well suited for a senior construction professional who can take ownership of both the field execution and overall project delivery while maintaining exceptionally high standards for craftsmanship, schedule, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-end residential construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover and closeout.
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to established quality standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, look-ahead schedules, construction sequencing, and site logistics plans.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, designers, and homeowners.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documents to ensure accurate field execution.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, inspections, daily reports, and other project documentation.
- Lead daily and weekly jobsite meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, quality reviews, and progress meetings.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts, existing-condition issues, constructability concerns, material delays, and scheduling challenges.
- Coordinate manpower, material deliveries, equipment, site access, and subcontractor sequencing.
- Maintain exceptional craftsmanship and quality standards across structural work, architectural details, millwork, finishes, and final completion.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, labor productivity, material usage, and subcontractor performance.
- Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and site procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professionally managed jobsite throughout construction.
- Provide regular project updates to ownership, homeowners, architects, designers, and company leadership.
- Oversee punch-list completion, owner walkthroughs, warranty items, turnover documentation, and final closeout.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
Requirements
- 15+ years of construction experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- 10+ years of residential construction project management or field leadership experience in the Greater Boston area.
- Proven experience managing luxury custom homes, multifamily construction, major renovations, or historic restoration projects.
- Historic renovation, brownstone restoration, or architect-driven residential construction experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Boston-area construction practices, permitting, inspections, urban site logistics, and local subcontractor coordination.
- Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, quality control, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Experience managing complex projects in occupied, constrained, or urban environments.
- Proficiency with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar construction platforms.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong field presence with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high construction standards.
- Ability to work effectively with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
