AV PRIME contract is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to perform as part of a team supporting the development of the Tactical Edge Platform. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Supports, integrates, scales, documents, and secures all aspects of the virtual compute and container platforms that make up the Tactical Edge Platform
- Works with developers to ensure compliance with optimal integration
- Ensures DevOps policies are integrated throughout the stack
- Conducts assessments to ensure the platforms meet required performance specifications
- Containerizes key applications identified by mission lead
- Understanding of standard AI / ML data formats for models, weights, and data interchange.

- Work performed in the contractor facility in Annapolis Junction.
- Partial telework available
- Both low and high side access
Qualification Requirements:
- Twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Requirements:
- Experience developing/integrating capabilities while leveraging software containerization technologies (K8s, Rancher, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience developing and maintaining micro-services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience working with varying and contrasting communications and data formats
- Deep understanding of AI/ML capabilities within client environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Desired Skills
- Agile Development Experience
- Experience with programmatic data serving/retrieval APIs/mechanisms
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of data science workflows, ETL, and data lakes.
Individual Capabilities Required
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Software development on low and high side to build innovative solutions in both environments.
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to develop rapid, light-weight experiments to evaluate and explore new solutions to help steer customer capabilities.
- Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
- Write or review software and system documentation
- Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project
- Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
- Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
- Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
- Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
- Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
- Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering
Salary Range: $150,000 - $260,000
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.
