Software Engineer (.NET)

This is an open posting for an active position. This is a remote-first role available to candidates based in the Greater Toronto Area for occassional in-person meetings.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting and maintaining web and applications in a team environment. They are looking for someone who is a quick learner, and able to read, understand and debug legacy code. You will be expected to adhere to business specifications while using the latest standards, practices, tools, and guidelines for .NET and React/Redux front-end application development. You should be comfortable building new components, and maintaining/upgrading old code.
Compensation: $110,000 - 120,000 CAD annual base salary
Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient software solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with developers and cross-functional stakeholders to design, implement, and integrate software components and third-party systems.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications, identifying opportunities for improvements and enhancements.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications while ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.
• Contribute to quality assurance practices, development processes, and technical standards.
• Evaluate technical solutions and their operational feasibility to support business objectives.
• Work closely with UX designers, business analysts, systems analysts, and other developers to deliver effective software solutions.

Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years of experience developing web applications using C# and .NET, including ASP.NET/Core.
• 2+ years of experience building single-page applications using React and Redux.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software development best practices.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting production applications in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server and JavaScript.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies, including HTML5, CSS/SASS, DOM, and Webpack.
• Ability to translate product requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in eCommerce environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and Node.js.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
• Experience working in Linux environments, preferably Ubuntu.
