Solution Architect

Description

Company

Our client is a well-established organisation undertaking a significant programme of technology-enabled change and transformation.

Technology is central to its future strategy, with continued investment in digital transformation, service improvement and the development of a modern, resilient and integrated technology landscape.

Operating across a complex technology estate spanning legacy systems, modern platforms, enterprise applications, data, integrations and third-party solutions, the organisation is looking to strengthen its architecture capability and create greater consistency across technology decision-making, Business Analysis and change delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to join at an important stage of the organisation's transformation journey and influence how technology solutions are designed, governed and delivered across the business.

Role

We are looking to appoint a Solution Architect to provide architectural leadership across a diverse portfolio of technology-enabled change.

Reporting to the Head of Business Change and Portfolio Delivery, you will shape, assure and govern end-to-end solutions, ensuring technology investments are scalable, interoperable, secure, resilient and aligned with the organisation's long-term architecture and business strategy.

This is broader than a traditional technical architecture position. You will operate at the intersection of technology, business change and operations, helping senior stakeholders translate complex challenges and strategic priorities into pragmatic, deliverable solutions.

You will own the solution vision across assigned programmes, considering applications, integrations, data flows, non-functional requirements, security, service transition and wider operational impacts.

Person

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect, Lead Solution Architect or equivalent who combines strong technical architecture expertise with the ability to operate credibly with senior business, operational and technology stakeholders.

You should be comfortable working across a complex application and integration landscape rather than specialising solely in a single technology or platform. You will be able to understand the bigger picture while remaining pragmatic about what can realistically be delivered.

You will be expected to spend time on site when necessary. There isn't a set number of days but the majority of the technical team go in 2 days per week and so locally based candidates are preferred.
