Description
Do you want to help shape the future of Europe’s energy system and contribute to a fully carbon‑neutral, sustainable power grid? Are you a data engineer who is curious, open‑minded, and initiative-taking — someone who enjoys working in an explorative and collaborative environment? Do you want to collaborate with engineers, application developers, and data scientists to unlock insights from the vast amounts of data behind our services?
We are looking for a Student Assistant to support our Data & Analytics department. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who wants practical experience working with data platforms, governance processes, documentation, and operational support activities in an international and highly technical environment.
Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the green energy transition
Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) provides critical services and insights to support the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark — to ensure the efficient operation and use of the Nordic power system and high security of power supply at any time.
Based in Copenhagen, Nordic RCC is one of six RCCs in Europe, equally owned by the Nordic region's four electricity TSOs: Fingrid, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät, and Energinet.
As European power systems integrate and evolve to meet climate goals, Nordic RCC provides regional coordination, integrated services, regional insights and recommendations to the Nordic TSOs and their control centres, to support cross-border operational security 24/7.
Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector and to provide for a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.
Right now, we are looking for a Student Assistant to join our Data & Analytics Department.

Examples of tasks may include:

Assisting with user onboarding and access administration

Data Governance
Supporting data governance processes and documentation
Maintaining data catalogues and metadata documentation
Assisting with data classification and governance activities
Supporting compliance and process-related initiatives
General Department Support

Supporting project coordination and follow-up activities
Assisting with ad hoc analytical and administrative tasks
Who We Are Looking For
You are currently enrolled in a relevant university programme, for example within data science, computer science, engineering, information management, business analytics, economics, mathematics, or a similar field.
You do not need extensive professional experience. What matters most is that you are curious, structured, and comfortable taking ownership of practical tasks — from organizing documentation and following up on details to supporting colleagues with day-to-day needs.
We are looking for someone who:
Is detail-oriented and follows tasks through carefully
Enjoys turning information into clear documentation, guides, or overviews that others can use
Communicates clearly in writing and verbally
Can work independently while also asking for input when needed
Has an interest in data, analytics, and digital platforms
Is comfortable using Microsoft Office tools
It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience with one or more relevant tools or concepts, such as Python, SQL, Power BI, enterprise architecture, data governance, or technical documentation.
What We Offer:
A flexible student position that can be adapted to your studies
Exposure to large-scale data and analytics initiatives within the energy sector
Experience working in an international environment with Nordic stakeholders
Insight into data governance, analytics platforms, and digital transformation
Opportunities to build practical skills that are highly relevant for a future career in data and analytics
A friendly and collaborative team with experienced data scientists, data engineers, and analytics specialists
