Description

The Department of Quantitative Biomedicine is an interdisciplinary biomedical research unit that combines basic science with biotechnological and medical research, using both experimental and computational approaches.

The Molecular Plasmid Ecology Lab (Kümmerli Group) studies the ecology and evolution of antibiotic resistance plasmids, in particular how plasmids interact and compete with each other, for example through type IV CRISPR-Cas systems.
