DESE Research, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer – Test Analyst to join an exciting team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in the analysis, testing, and evaluation of the Missile Defense System (MDS).
This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL.
The candidate will support MDA's DE-SE&I (Enterprise Analysis & Technical Innovation) organization and provide engineering analysis of MDS performance. The position involves analyzing test data generated primarily from MDA Ground Test (HWIL) programs and supporting analysis of MDA Flight Test events, Real World Events, and Golden Dome for America (GDA) tests.
The candidate will use model-based systems engineering approaches and analytical tools to support execution of system-level and element-level performance analyses on the complex MDS. This role will also support data reviews and the development and presentation of analytical products used to assess strategic and theater/regional element-level system performance.
Required Skills:
- Experience performing systems engineering test analysis for complex systems
- Ability to conduct system-level performance analysis, including sensor acquisition, tracking, discrimination, battle manager engagement planning, warfighter interaction, and engagement coordination
- Knowledge of analytical approaches and demonstrated analytical skills and discipline
- Ability to independently analyze test data and develop analytical products assessing system performance
- Ability to identify and investigate data or analysis discrepancies
- Ability to assess system capabilities, characteristics, and limitations against technical intent
- Experience supporting technical data reviews and presenting engineering and analytical results
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a geographically distributed team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and collaboration skills
- Ability to learn and apply systems engineering approaches to MDS elements and understand how they contribute to a system-level analytical perspective
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field; Master's or PhD candidates with strong systems engineering or MDS analysis backgrounds will also be considered
- Degree and experience performing systems engineering test analysis for the Missile Defense System
- Active Secret-level DoD security clearance; candidates with higher-level clearances are preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong systems engineering or MDS analysis background
- Demonstrated collaboration and presentation skills
- System-level interface design and specification development experience
- Knowledge of the Missile Defense System and experience working with MDS-related tools and technologies
- Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, or similar analytical tools
- Experience with system analysis and system-level testing
